The American Kennel Club is one organization that is affiliated to registering the breeds of dogs. Many of the breeds are already registered with them and those who are not such as the hybrid ones, feel offended and outsider. The AKC has been doing this job of pup registration for over 120 years. In 2006 it got into a pact with Petland, the pet mega store, but the alliance broke off after a long controversy. They also paid back $1262 for snake bite, $2,000 for intestinal resection & $2,800 for ruptured ligament. The biggest of them all was of $3329 for vertebral disc rupture.
According to their Essential plan, AKC states that 68 cents are spent on each dog each day. They have various plans to give back the expenses for investment on dog’s dental cleaning, shots, and checkup. You can pay back monthly or yearly installments in lieu of this insurance policy. These schemes are also valid for cats & each come with a 60 days trial period.
