Pets almost been a member in most of the family they are not considered as an animal. So there is a need for everyone to teach their pets good manners and etiquette as they teach to their children. Pets are of different kinds such as dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, parrots, sparrows, hens etc. Some people go beyond our expectations by having pets like squirrel, monkey, donkey etc. We can separate the necessity of pets by two kinds, one is to share their owner’s day to day work and the other one is to be a good companion to their owners.As discussed earlier there are various pets but in this article let we discuss about dogs.  Training is crucial for dogs to transform them from being an animal to a pet. Usually dogs have behavior problems such as climbing onto the sofas and beds etc. It is definite for an owner that his dog has to perform some basic instructions such as to respond when he called, to sit down or to fetch a newspaper.

When is the right time to start training a dog?

Basically if the training starts at 6-8 weeks it will be better for the dog to adapt the change. However there is no limit that within this period only the dog has to be trained.

Steps to be followed while training the dog

• Remember the personality and temperament of each breed differs on case to case basis so same approach to every kind of dog wont fetch you the expected result.
• When you teach a person what we do is we will capture their attention likewise we need to capture the dog’s attention before starting the training process.
• Set the timeframe like 15-30 minutes per day
• Ensure that the place is quiet one and free from disturbances
• Start with some basic commands like ‘sit down’, ‘stay’; fetch the ‘ball’, ‘newspaper’ etc.
• Like humans each time when your dog performs your command praise it or reward it with its favorite food like biscuits
• Patience is very important when it comes to training so try to be maintain your patience as much as possible
